The cultural identity and tangible heritage of historic cities are the cornerstones of a shared and sustainable future, not only in the Old Continent. Designing their conservation, transformation, and reuse—while aligning policies with active engagement in contemporary life dynamics—is the challenge we face in the coming years. Only through design can we redefine, in the present, the future of heritage and the cities of the past.
Since 2006, the PARES Master’s program - through transdisciplinary dialogue between theoretical and practical approaches - has offered a training path aimed at shaping a high-profile professional. This professional is aware of the technical and cultural complexities of interventions in historic cities and landscapes, with particular attention to ancient urban contexts, and is capable of combining a comprehensive vision with a solid foundation of specialized skills. They work in synergy with all stakeholders involved in the entire process, from design to implementation.
